General Pig Stock Worker
General Pig Stock Worker - Melton Mowbray - £32,000 – £35,000 + Accommodation 

The Job:
A well established agricultural business is seeking a reliable and hardworking General Pig Stock Worker to join a modern pig production unit based in Melton Mowbray. This is a hands on role supporting the daily care and management of pigs across various stages of production. The successful candidate will work as part of a team to maintain high standards of animal welfare, hygiene and productivity within the unit.

Key responsibilities include:
- Daily care and welfare of pigs across different production stages
- Feeding livestock and monitoring feeding systems
- Carrying out regular health checks and reporting any concerns
- Assisting with administering basic treatments under guidance
- Cleaning and maintaining pig housing to strict hygiene standards
- Assisting with moving, handling, and loading livestock when required
- Maintaining accurate farm records and documentation
- Following all health & safety and biosecurity procedures

The Candidate:
- Reliable with strong attendance and timekeeping
- Physically fit and comfortable working in a farm environment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good understanding of animal welfare standards
- Previous farm or livestock experience
- Pig production experience (advantageous but not essential)

- Salary £32,000 – £35,000 depending on experience

Candidate Requirements
All applicants must hold a minimum of an NVQ Level 2, Scottish NVQ Level 2, or an equivalent qualification relevant to the role applied for. Candidates must also have the legal right to work in the UK or hold a valid visa permitting employment.
