Herd Manager
Herd Manager - Cheshire - £40,000 + Company vehicle + 2 Bed accommodation

The Job:
- Managing the day-to-day operation of a 100-cow robotic dairy herd with followers.
- Maintaining high herd health, fertility and welfare standards.
- Making management decisions to maximise herd performance and profitability.
- Overseeing robotic milking systems and farm facilities.
- Working with modern genetics and breeding programmes.
- Promoting the farm and business at agricultural events where required.

The Company:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Herd Manager to take responsibility for a progressive robotic dairy farm in Cheshire. Working with a herd of 100 Holstein cows plus followers, you will have the autonomy to manage all aspects of the dairy business, with the freedom to make key decisions that will continue to drive herd performance and business success. The farm is committed to producing high-quality milk while maintaining exceptional animal welfare standards through the use of leading genetics, sexed semen and modern dairy technology.

The Candidate:
Previous experience managing or assisting in the management of a dairy herd.
- Excellent attention to detail and exceptionally high standards.
- A positive attitude with the ability to work independently.
- Strong communication skills.
- A willingness to take ownership and responsibility for the farm.
- Experience with robotic milking systems would be advantageous, although full training can be provided.
- Experience using AI and foot trimming would be beneficial but is not essential.
- A genuine passion for the dairy industry and continuous improvement.

Candidate Requirements
All applicants must hold a minimum of an NVQ Level 2, Scottish NVQ Level 2, or an equivalent qualification relevant to the role applied for. Candidates must also have the legal right to work in the UK or hold a valid visa permitting employment.
