Indoor Assistant Pig Unit Manager
Indoor Assistant Pig Unit Manager - Devon - £30,000 + Accommodation Allowance

The Job:
We are looking to recruit an Indoor Assistant Pig Unit Manager for a progressive breed to finish pig unit in Devon, managing approximately 350 sows.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with solid pig farming experience who is looking to develop their career within a forward-thinking and well managed operation. You will play a key role in supporting the Unit Manager with the day to day running of the unit.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing the full breed to finish production cycle
- Support the health, welfare, and performance of the sow herd and growing stock
- Carry out daily stock duties including feeding, farrowing, and general husbandry
- Maintain high standards of biosecurity and health & safety
- Monitor performance and assist in implementing improvements
- Keep accurate records and assist with compliance requirements
- Step up to manage the unit in the absence of the Unit Manager

The Candidate:
- Previous experience in pig farming (essential)
- Good understanding of pig production systems, ideally breed-to-finish
- Hands on approach with a strong willingness to learn and develop
- Strong attention to detail and high standards of stockmanship
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Positive attitude and proactive mindset

Working Hours:
- 12 days on, 2 days off shift pattern

- Salary from £30,000 DOE

Candidate Requirements
All applicants must hold a minimum of an NVQ Level 2, Scottish NVQ Level 2, or an equivalent qualification relevant to the role applied for. Candidates must also have the legal right to work in the UK or hold a valid visa permitting employment.
