Petting Farm Supervisor
Petting Farm Supervisor - Buckinghamshire -£14.00 per hour - 4 Day Working Week

The Job:
An  opportunity has arisen for a hands on Petting Farm Supervisor to join a unique animal and visitor attraction in Amersham. This role would suit someone with practical experience working with pigs and smallholding livestock who enjoys combining animal care with team leadership and visitor interaction. You will play a key role in the day to day running of the farm, ensuring high standards of animal welfare, site presentation, visitor experience and team performance.

Key responsibilities:
- Overseeing the day to day operation of the petting farm and animal areas
- Providing hands on care and handling of pigs and other smallholding livestock
- Ensuring high standards of animal welfare, health, feeding and husbandry
- Supervising, supporting and motivating the farm team
- Allocating daily tasks and ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently
- Supporting staff training, development and onboarding
- Monitoring animal health and escalating concerns where required
- Maintaining clean, safe and well-presented animal enclosures and visitor areas
- Ensuring biosecurity, hygiene and Health & Safety procedures are followed
- Supporting visitor experiences, educational activities and farm events
- Maintaining accurate animal, welfare and operational records
- Assisting with stock control and ordering feed, bedding and farm supplies.

The Company:
A unique and established petting farm providing visitors with the opportunity to get up close to pigs and a range of smallholding livestock. The farm places a strong emphasis on animal welfare, education and providing an enjoyable experience for visitors.

The Candidate:
- Previous experience working with pigs is essential or highly desirable
- Practical experience handling smallholding or farm livestock
- Experience within a petting farm, smallholding, agricultural or animal care environment
- Previous experience supervising or leading a team
- Strong understanding of animal welfare and responsible livestock care
- Confident and calm when handling animals
- Friendly and approachable with good communication skills
- Organised, reliable and able to work independently
- Comfortable working weekends, bank holidays and during busy seasonal periods
-  Full UK driving licence 
- An animal management, agriculture or livestock qualification would be beneficial
- Experience working with children, schools or educational groups would be advantageous.

Candidate Requirements
All applicants must hold a minimum of an NVQ Level 2, Scottish NVQ Level 2, or an equivalent qualification relevant to the role applied for. Candidates must also have the legal right to work in the UK or hold a valid visa permitting employment.
