Pig Farm Production Manager
Pig Farm Production Manager - Ireland (multiple locations) - €45,000 – €50,000
The Job:
A progressive pig production business is looking for an experienced Pig Farm Production Manager to oversee the day to day running of a large scale pig unit in Ireland. This is a hands on management role focused on maintaining high welfare standards, achieving strong production performance, and leading an established farm team. You’ll be responsible for managing the full production cycle, monitoring herd performance and making sure the farm operates efficiently on a daily basis. The role also involves staff management, record keeping, compliance, and helping drive continuous improvements across the unit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day to day running of the pig unit and full production cycle
- Monitor herd health, welfare, growth, and overall production performance
- Ensure feeding, breeding, and general husbandry routines are carried out to a high standard
- Organise health treatments, vaccinations, and vet visits
- Maintain accurate records for production, medicines, feed, and breeding
- Lead and manage the farm team, including rotas and daily workload planning
- Support recruitment, training, and development of staff
- Ensure high standards of biosecurity, health & safety, and animal welfare
- Monitor farm performance and report regularly to senior management
- Help manage operational costs and identify areas for improvement
- Oversee maintenance and upkeep of buildings, equipment, and machinery
- Prepare for inspections and ensure compliance requirements are met
The Company:
A well established pig production business operating modern farming systems across multiple sites in Ireland. The business is focused on efficient production, high welfare standards, and long-term investment within the sector.
The Candidate:
- Previous experience managing or supervising within pig production
- Strong understanding of pig health, breeding, nutrition, and production systems
- Confident leading and managing teams in a practical farm environment
- Good organisational and problem-solving skills
- Able to work independently and make decisions when required
- Strong communication and record-keeping ability
- Committed to maintaining high welfare and operational standards
- Agricultural or animal-related qualification would be useful but not essential
- Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends when required
The Package:
- Salary €45,000 – €50,000 depending on experience

Candidate Requirements
All applicants must hold a minimum of an NVQ Level 2, Scottish NVQ Level 2, or an equivalent qualification relevant to the role applied for. Candidates must also have the legal right to work in the UK or hold a valid visa permitting employment.
