Registered Veterinary Nurse
Registered Veterinary Nurse - Oxfordshire - £34,000 + Benefits

The Job:
Registered Veterinary Nurse role within a well established small animal GP practice, supporting high quality clinical care across a varied caseload.

Key responsibilities:
- Deliver high standards of nursing care across medical and surgical cases
- Monitor patients pre-, peri and post operatively, including anaesthesia and recovery
- Assist veterinary surgeons during surgical and diagnostic procedures
- Prepare patients for surgery and support theatre protocols
- Administer medications and treatments under veterinary direction
- Provide wound care, bandaging and post operative nursing support
- Manage inpatient care, including ongoing observation and clinical checks
- Support emergency and critical care cases when required
- Maintain accurate and up to date clinical records
- Support patient admissions and discharge processes
- Contribute to stock control and ordering of clinical supplies
- Maintain infection control and clinical hygiene standards

A long established, locally owned veterinary practice with full clinical autonomy and a strong reputation in the Oxford area. The practice has been operating for over 10 years and has built a loyal client base alongside a diverse and growing caseload. The team is supportive, collaborative, and clinically engaged, with interests spanning internal medicine, surgery, imaging, and ophthalmology. The nursing team works closely with experienced veterinary surgeons and practice leadership, with a strong emphasis on development, wellbeing, and clinical progression.
The practice is well equipped and continues to invest in both facilities and people, encouraging nurses to develop areas of clinical interest with full CPD support.

The Candidate:
- Registered Veterinary Nurse with relevant clinical experience
- Confident in surgical nursing, anaesthesia monitoring and patient recovery
- Strong understanding of small animal clinical care and welfare standards
- Experience supporting emergency and inpatient care cases
- Excellent communication skills with a client focused approach
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
- Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Ability to maintain accurate clinical records
- Willingness to support and mentor junior staff and students
- Interest in developing specialist clinical skills supported through CPD

The Package:
- Salary from £34,000 DOE
- No out of hours requirement
- Full-time role (40 hours per week)

Candidate Requirements
All applicants must hold a minimum of an NVQ Level 2, Scottish NVQ Level 2, or an equivalent qualification relevant to the role applied for. Candidates must also have the legal right to work in the UK or hold a valid visa permitting employment.
