Reporting to:
Head of Department

Location: Position based in Lincolnshire

Job Purpose

Main responsibilities:

  • Close liaison with the Head of Department and Managing Director on all aspects of land spreading, Health and Safety and Environmental Management within the department
  • Close liaison with the Heads of Department to plan spreading activities, locations and storage contingencies several months ahead to ensure the operation runs smoothly
  • Point of contact to the Environment Agency
  • Assist management of:

      i)  Contracts spreading to land

      ii) Digestate contracts to land

      ii) A.D processes

  • Managing of the Assistant Agronomist / Environmental Manager and Agronomy administration Team to ensure the productive and efficient running of the Agronomy Department whilst ultimately reporting to the Heads of Department
  • Overseeing the correct procedures / implementation of paperwork involved with deployment (registering / permitting) of land for spreading is carried out
  • Overseeing contracts currently in place for land spreading are maintained
  • Overseeing farmer/farm visits and inspections are carried out according to company procedures
  • Liaison with our laboratory ref. sampling
  • Keeping up-to-date on the latest government environmental regulations, as well as any new policies instituted by the company, to ensure that rules continue to be followed


Competencies for success
Skills, qualifications and practical experience

  • WAMITAB qualified
  • F.A.C.T.S qualified
  • Relevant experience of direct involvement with agriculture
  • Knowledge of land spreading techniques and equipment
  • Current knowledge of Waste Regulations / Land spreading regulations
  • Knowledge of Environmental Management
  • Experience of dealing with the Environment Agency
  • Experience of detailed and professional reporting
  • Full UK driver’s license (Clean)

Package:

  • £35K Basic Salary
  • 20 Days Holiday + Bank holidays
