​THE JOB:

We are looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Dairy Herdsperson, for a successful, sustainable family run dairy operation, located in Somerset. A beautiful place to work, with an excellent team! Fantastic on-site accommodation also offered if required.

As Assistant Dairy Herdsperson for this successful dairy farm, you will be part of a small team who are responsible for the day to day needs of the 250 strong dairy herd and will report to the Dairy Herdsperson. You will be responsible for assisting with all herd management and well-being of the cows, who are milked twice a day.

This is an excellent opportunity for the successful candidate to learn and work hands-on within one of the industry’s leading sustainable farming operations.  

THE CANDIDATE:

·        Previous dairy experience required.

·        Farming qualifications desirable but not essential.

·        Milking experience desirable but not essential.

·        Team player and excellent communication skills essential.

·        AI qualified an advantage.

·        Foot trimming experience an advantage.

·        Clean driving licence essential.

·        Tractor handling experience desirable.

THE PACKAGE:

Salary £25,000 + Accommodation (2 Bed Cottage) ALL bills included! Or £32,500 without accommodation. Working rota: 11 days on 3 off.
