Assistant Farm Manager – North Portugal – Salary: €25k - €40k + Accommodation + Great Opportunities for Progression!
The Farm:
Our client’s business is a 1500 Acre farm set in the beautiful countryside of Northern Portugal. The farm consists of, arable, cattle, nut crops, apples and forestry.
The Role:
This is an exciting opportunity for someone early in their career, to make their mark on a farm that is undergoing change, development and diversification. You will report to both the farm owner and the farm manager. Not only will the successful candidate have the practical experience required, but must possess a willingness to learn, be self-motivated and passionate about their work.
The successful candidate will preferably be an early career (Assistant) Farm Manager, ideally with an interest in organic produce and will primarily, be responsible for the day-to-day running of the nut orchard. In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to undertake general farm maintenance duties, including, building maintenance and restoration.
This position is open to candidates globally, with the right experience.
The Candidate:
- An early career (Assistant) Farm Manager, or general farm worker looking for the next step on the career ladder.
- Experienced in nut crops; ideally, Almonds and Hazelnuts.
- Experience with organic produce would be an advantage.
- Able to undertake general farm maintenance duties, including, buildings maintenance.
- Passionate about farming and enthusiastic.
- Able to speak Portuguese would be an advantage.
- Animal husbandry, experience with other crops and forestry management would be an advantage.
The Package:
An excellent remuneration package of €25,000 - €40,000 (DOE) + Accommodation + Benefits + Great opportunities for progression!
