Assistant Pig Farm Manager
Assistant Pig Farm Manager- Ireland (Multiple Sites) - €45,000 DOE + Accommodation
The Job:
A leading pig production business is seeking an Assistant Pig Farm Manager to support the day-to-day operation of a large-scale breeding and production unit (circa 1,300 sows). This role is designed for an experienced pig stockperson or supervisor ready to progress into management, with a clear and structured pathway to Farm Production Manager.
You will work closely with senior management, gaining hands-on exposure across production performance, staff supervision, compliance, and operational decision making.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the full pig production cycle and daily farm routines
- Monitoring herd performance, growth rates, and efficiency
- Maintaining high standards of animal welfare and biosecurity
- Assisting with health checks, treatments, vaccination programmes and vet visits
- Supporting staff supervision, task allocation, rotas and training
- Assisting with audits, inspections, and regulatory compliance
- Maintaining accurate production, breeding, feed and medicine records

The Candidate:
- Previous experience within pig production is essential
- Ideally from a senior stockperson or supervisory background
- Ambitious and motivated to progress into farm management
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Committed to animal welfare and best practice
- Flexible to work weekends on a rota basis
- Agricultural or animal related qualifications advantageous, but not essential
The Package:
- Salary €38,000–€45,000 per annum DOE
- Single occupancy accommodation included
