THE ROLE


Agricultural Recruitment Specialist are looking on behalf of our client to recruit a Assistant Poultry Farm Manager, the position is based near Tiverton, North Devon.
We are currently looking for a Assistant Farm Manager to join a large and well established yet growing farm.
This is a great role in a beautiful part of the country, our client pays generously, has an above average bonus scheme, and offers his employees a very generous housing / rent allowance.

You will not work excessive hours in this role: 40 hour working week – paid overtime is available.


THE CANDIDATE

Poultry experience is required.

This job includes an excellent remuneration package for the right individual, with self-motivation and attention to detail.

To do well in this role you must be a team player and be self-driven to achieve results.


THE ROLE

Farm Managers are responsible for the planning, organisation and management of all activities relating to the farm.

This role will include the following responsibilities:
  • Management of the client farm.
  • Monitoring animal health and welfare, including liaising with vets.
  • Applying health and safety standards across the farm.
  • Ensuring birds have feed and water and the environment within which they are kept is suitable regarding ventilation, lighting, etc.
  • You must conduct sufficient checks on the birds to meet the requirements for the client and the relevant farm assurance schemes.
  • Manage feed for the farms as per the clients' feed plans, checking feed bins daily and ordering/ cancelling orders where necessary.
  • Report any breakdowns or incidents to your Manager immediately.
  • Always oversee the running of the farms to the best of your ability.
  • Carry out vehicle and machinery checks, required routine maintenance.


THE PACKAGE

Permanent, Full-time position
Salary: Circa £30,000 per year, plus bonus and a house / housing allowance.
