The Job:
Our client is seeking an experienced and forward thinking Dairy Farm Manager to lead operations on a progressive 1,000-cow Holstein unit based in County Donegal. This is a pivotal role within a well established enterprise that is now looking to diversify and future proof its business for the next generation.
The successful candidate will take full responsibility for the day to day management of the herd and team, ensuring high standards of animal welfare, fertility, milk yield and staff performance. You’ll play a key part in driving efficiency, sustainability and innovation, working closely with nutritionists, vets and senior management to optimise herd performance and explore new diversification opportunities across the business.

Our client operates one of Donegal’s most respected dairy herds, recognised for its modern facilities, data driven herd management and focus on continuous improvement. With a strong emphasis on welfare, genetics and quality milk production, the business is now exploring alternative revenue streams and diversification within the agri sector to enhance long term resilience and profitability.

The Candidate:
- Proven track record managing large scale dairy herds (ideally 500+ cows)
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Expertise in AI, fertility management, and herd health monitoring systems
- Commercial mindset with an interest in diversification and business development
- Excellent communication and organisational ability
- Passion for high standards of welfare, sustainability and efficiency
