A world class producer of raw dairy products and one of the most innovative and exciting companies in today's dairy industry, my client is seeking a Dairy Herd Manager for their business.
The Role:
Reporting directly to the business owner, the successful candidate will manage a small team of people and a herd of 300 grazing cows, working closely with other teams to assure quality. Therefore, key to the role will be excellent people skills and the ability to establish and nurture a great rapport and culture within your team. Hence, performance monitoring, setting targets, reviewing and reporting will be an integral aspect of the role.
The ideal candidate will have experience of small herd management, with the priority being milk quality, not quantity.
The Candidate:
- Experience of managing a small herd.
- Experience of managing a small team.
- Cow husbandry experience.
- Excellent communication skills.
- An acute awareness of animal health and welfare.
- Experienced in grazing and yard management
- Experienced in equipment and parlour maintenance
The Package:
An excellent salary: £25000 - £45000, depending on experience, plus accommodation included.
