Job description

Your strong background in farming and experience operating machinery will be essential in ensuring the successful execution of field trials, accurate data collection, and comprehensive reporting. Working in collaboration with our client's experienced team, you will have the opportunity to learn and grow in a dynamic agricultural research environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Field Trial Operations: Assist in planning, organizing, and executing field trials, ensuring adherence to established protocols and guidelines.
  • Data Collection: Collect accurate and detailed data, monitor crop growth, take measurements, record observations, and maintain comprehensive records.
  • Machinery Operation: Safely operate a range of agricultural machinery and equipment, including tractors, harvesters, and specialized machinery, while following all safety protocols.
  • Maintenance and Calibration: Perform routine maintenance and calibration of field trial equipment to maintain optimal functionality and accuracy.
  • Crop Monitoring: Monitor crop health, identify pests and diseases, and implement appropriate control measures as required.
  • Documentation: Maintain organized records of trial activities, data collection, and results.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with the research team, providing support and assistance in various aspects of field trials and research projects.
  • Health and Safety: Adhere to health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others.
Requirements:
  • Farming Background: Strong understanding of agricultural practices, crop management, and farming techniques.
  • Machinery Operation Skills: Proficient in driving and operating various agricultural machinery and equipment.
  • Attention to Detail: Demonstrated ability to collect and record accurate data with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Physical Fitness: Capable of performing physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Team Player: Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational abilities with the capacity to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and work schedules, including occasional weekend work during peak seasons.
  • Valid Driver's License: Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Salary and Benefits: The selected candidate will receive a competitive salary within the range of £20,000 - £24,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
