Job description

The Position:

This Field Trials Assistant job vacancy is based in Gloucestershire and it really is a fantastic opportunity for an individual to be part of a growing international and market-leading company, with great future progression opportunities available! The candidate will be required to plan, resource and execute a range of applied trials relating to primary production. This will involve the management of work through internal facilities, as well as coordinating workflow with external contractors and collaborators. Upon the completion of a trial, the candidate must be capable of communicating the results to clients through presentations and the production of technical reports. The applicant must have a strong understanding of current agronomic practices in agriculture and horticulture, and familiarisation with the crop production industry in general. This role would suit a Graduate/HND in Agriculture/Plant Science/Biology or similar, with knowledge and practical experience of agronomic practices.

The Candidate:

  • Graduate/HND in Agriculture/Plant Science/Biology or similar, with knowledge and practical experience of agronomic practices.
  • BASIS/FACTS qualification desirable
  • Ideally the ability to drive a tractor.
  • Knowledge of greenhouse management systems, including irrigation control
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to manage work on a number of projects simultaneously to agreed deadlines
  • Ability to prepare technical reports and presentations
  • Flexible and adaptable. Able to work with what is available.
  • A strong team player.

The Package:

Dependent upon the level of experience - circa £19,000 - £24,000 pa. plus great full benefits package, 25 days holiday, pension etc . Plus excellent opportunities to progress internally!
