Growing Manager
Growing Manager - Bristol - Competitive Salary + Benefits 

The Job:
An established horticultural business is seeking an experienced Growing Manager to deliver targeted yields while maximising crop quality across site operations. This is a senior, hands-on role with responsibility for crop performance, operational leadership, compliance, and team development, ensuring production aligns with commercial and customer requirements.

Key responsibilities include:
- Managing crop performance, yield, quality, and timing across the site
- Maintaining and adjusting growing blueprints and watering plans
- Monitoring and optimising climate control systems to maximise efficiency
- Recording and analysing daily climate conditions in each growing area
- Leading Growing, Operations, and Disease Control teams
- Overseeing rotas, holidays, daily workloads, and supply sourcing
- Ensuring high standards of hygiene, health & safety, and biosecurity
- Maintaining audit readiness and compliance with SOPs
- Working closely with site leadership to deliver accurate production forecasts
- Aligning crop output with harvesting and sales requirements
- Recruiting, training, mentoring, and developing growers and operational staff

The Candidate:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a growing or crop production environment
- Proven supervisory or team leadership experience
- Strong people-management and coaching skills
- Commercially aware with the ability to influence outcomes
- Organised, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple priorities
- Confident communicator with strong problem-solving ability
- Computer literate
- Fluent spoken and written English
- Willingness to travel occasionally to other sites
- Experience in harvesting and compost operations
- Experience leading teams from diverse cultural backgrounds
