Purchasing Assistant – Organic Ingredients – Bath / Bristol (12-month maternity cover contract)
The Job Vacancy:
This Purchasing Assistant – Organic Ingredients – Bath / Bristol job vacancy is working for a major manufacturer of organically certified food and drink products in Bristol. This is a 12 month fixed-term maternity cover position that comes with a competitive salary of up to £25,000 per annum, alongside a benefits package designed to nurture your wellbeing and personal development. As Purchasing Assistant you’ll support the procurement and shipping of herbal raw materials and deliver vital day to day activities to make this happen. Day to day you’ll be in regular contact with suppliers to manage their enquiries and liaise with them about product specifications, pre-shipment of samples for testing, transit times, documentation and custom clearance, ensuring the timely delivery of raw materials. You’ll arrange deliveries and collections of stock to minimise overdue deliveries and their impact, and regularly update key internal stakeholders of potential changes to timelines or volumes. You’ll also get involved in purchasing activities including raw materials cost optimisation and delivery lead time reduction. The Company:

The Candidate:
Ideally experience of working in a purchasing assistant or procurement assistant level role
A degree in supply chain management, logistics or business studies or equivalent
Commercially aware
Great IT and communication skills.
Hard-working and enthusiastic.
Genuine interest in the organic sector.
The Package:
A highly competitive salary is offered, circa £20,000 - £25,000 basic (dependent upon experience) + + Pension + various welfare benefits and definite opportunities to progress!
