Senior Shepherd – Somerset – Salary to £30,000 + House (3 bed)
The Farm: -
A circa 1000-acre farm in the stunning Somerset countryside, home to 1100 ewes, 200 beef sucklers, a small herd of pedigree limousin cattle and 70 acres of arable (feed). A family run farm, with stock quality and welfare at the heart of the business.
The Job:
This will be a ‘hands on’ role, providing support to the Farm Manager, taking care of the daily needs of the livestock and managing a small team of general farm workers.
You will have previous experience of lambing and calving, general stock welfare including vaccinating and all general farm duties.
You will be educated to a good standard and have experience of monitoring stock, record keeping and reporting.
You will be passionate about your work, dedicated to the livestock, a competent manager of people and a team player.
The Candidate:
- Livestock husbandry experience – Sheep and Cattle.
- A good communicator and good people skills.
- Experience of managing people.
- Self-motivated.
- Proficient with operating farm machinery.
- Your own sheep dogs would be an advantage.
The Package:
Salary to £30,000 + House (3 bed in nearby village)
