Skilled Arable Operator
Location: Cambridge
Salary: up to £28,016 per annum DOE
 
Are you an experienced Arable Operator? Are you hardworking, reliable and have an eager and willingness to learn? If so, this could be for you...
 
Your key duties:
  • Working on agricultural operations including cultivations, drilling, agrochemical applications and irrigation (RTK/GPS)
  • Carrying out a wide range of standard agricultural machinery and specialist trials equipment.
  • Carrying out commercial and plot combine harvesting operations.
  • Machinery maintenance on a wide range of standard agricultural machinery and specialist trials equipment.
The role will not be limited to these duties, and you will be required to carry out a range of other associated work activities delivered by the centre, some of which can be physically demanding. Essential training will be provided as necessary.
 
Essential Skill Requirements:
  • Experience in Agriculture, Horticulture or Field Trials.
  • Use and maintenance of agricultural equipment.
  • A good working knowledge of agricultural practices.
  • Forklift and Tractor driving certificates.
  • Flexibility: able to work alone and as part of teams.
  • Time management/prioritising work.
  • Attention to detail.
 
 
Desirable Skills:
  • ATV (All-Terrain Vehicle) certificates.
  • PA1, PA2, PA6 and NRoSO registered.
  • Working knowledge of tractor Global Positioning System (GPS/RTK)
  • An understanding of agricultural trials.
A full UK driving licence is essential as you will be travelling to trials at other sites across the Cambridgeshire region and occasionally to their other centres around the UK. Transport can be provided from the Cambridge office to the various sites.
 
You must have the Right to work in the UK.
 
Salary:  up to £28,016
Contract: Permanent
Location: Cambridge
Working hours: 37 hour per week, overtime x1.5 hourly rate
Plus 25 days’ holiday( public holidays and 3 days off during the Christmas period ) plus training/education opportunities, excellent pension and fantastic ongoing career progression opportunities.
