The Job:
We are seeking a Technical Ruminant Nutritionist to support and develop our growing client base in Cumbria. This is a hands-on, field-based role focused on delivering high-quality nutritional advice to dairy and beef farmers, building trusted long-term relationships, and contributing to the technical strength of the wider nutrition team.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide on farm nutritional advice to dairy and beef clients, including ration formulation and performance monitoring
- Support farmers with transition cow management, forage utilisation and feed efficiency
- Analyse forage, milk, growth and performance data to inform feeding strategies
- Troubleshoot nutritional and production challenges
- Maintain accurate client records, reports and feeding plans
- Liaise with vets and other farm advisors where appropriate
- Contribute to continuous improvement of technical standards and knowledge

The Company:
We are an independent ruminant nutrition consultancy working closely with progressive dairy and beef producers across Cumbria and the wider North of England / Scottish Borders. Our focus is on practical, evidence based nutrition advice that improves animal performance, efficiency and farm profitability, without being tied to a single manufacturer.

The Candidate:
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Animal Science, Agriculture, or Nutrition (or significant relevant experience)
- Strong ruminant nutrition knowledge (dairy and/or beef)
- Practical understanding of UK livestock systems
- Confident, farmer focused communicator
- Full UK driving licence
- Consultancy or technical advisory experience
- Ration formulation software experience

The Package:
- Salary £35,000 – £50,000 per annum
- Ongoing technical training and professional development
