Assistant Dairy Manager
Trainee / Assistant Dairy Manager – Angus, Scotland - £40,000 + Accommodation + Progression
The Job:
The farm currently milks around 300 cows, with plans to expand to 450–500 cows within the next 18 months. This is a newly established dairy enterprise within a mixed farming operation that also includes potatoes, cereals, beef suckler cows, and laying hens.
Working closely with the Farm Manager, you will support the day-to-day running of the dairy, taking on responsibility for herd health, performance, and efficient operation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Milking and maintaining high standards of parlour hygiene (44/88 Boumatic parlour with in-parlour feeding)
- Monitoring animal health, fertility, and welfare
- Pasture management and feeding routines
- Machinery operation and general farm maintenance
- Record keeping and compliance
- Supporting staff supervision and training

The Candidate:
- Experienced in dairy farming (minimum 2–3 seasons preferred)
- Honest, dependable, and proactive
- Confident working both independently and as part of a team
- Committed to animal welfare, sustainability, and continuous improvement
- Keen to learn, develop, and progress within the dairy industry
- A full UK driving licence and the ability to operate farm vehicles safely are essential.
The Package:
- Salary: £30,000 – £40,000 (DOE)
- Clear progression opportunity to £50,000–£55,000, within 18 months as you move into a full Dairy Manager role
