Water Resources Specialist – EMEA - Portugal, with travel across EMEA – approx. 30% - €75,000 + 18% Profit Share + Benefits
The Job:
We are recruiting for an experienced Water Resources Specialist – EMEA to join a leading international food manufacturer, driving best practice in sustainable water management across the business.
In this newly created position, you will collaborate with operations teams, agronomists, growers, and R&D experts to enhance water stewardship both within the organisation and throughout the wider supply chain. This is a rare opportunity to play a pivotal role in developing innovative, science-led water strategies that make a real impact across global food production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate water stewardship initiatives across multiple regions in EMEA
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to optimise water use, quality, and sustainability
- Support operational teams and growers in implementing efficient irrigation and water conservation practices
- Develop and manage research programmes focused on water use, agronomy, and environmental performance
- Analyse water data, identify risk areas, and provide actionable insights for strategic decision-making
- Represent the company in industry networks and sustainability collaborations related to water management
- Deliver training, guidance, and continuous improvement support across diverse business functions.

The Candidate:
- Based in Spain or Portugal (essential)
- Proven experience coordinating or leading water resource, research, or agronomic programmes
- Strong background in agriculture, sustainability, environmental management, or related field
- Skilled communicator able to influence stakeholders across diverse cultures and disciplines
- Analytical, collaborative, and comfortable managing complex multi-country projects
- Fluent in English (additional European languages desirable)
- Willing and able to travel approximately 30% across EMEA
The Package:
- Salary: From €75,000 DOE
- Bonus: 18% profit share
