Commercial Account Executive
Commercial Account Executive - £30,000 – £35,000 - Shrewsbury (Office based)
The Job:
An exciting opportunity has become available for a commercially focused Account Executive to join a growing and well established insurance business. This is a varied role combining client management, new business development and technical insurance support. You’ll play a key part in driving revenue growth while delivering a high standard of service to a portfolio of commercial clients. The position offers a great balance of relationship management and sales, making it ideal for someone who enjoys building long-term partnerships while identifying new opportunities.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop new business opportunities and contribute to overall company growth
- Manage a portfolio of commercial clients, building strong and lasting relationships
- Identify client needs and recommend appropriate insurance solutions
- Negotiate with insurers to secure suitable terms and coverage
- Present recommendations clearly and confidently to clients
- Handle renewals, mid term adjustments and policy changes
- Support clients with claims queries and liaise with insurers where required
- Maintain accurate records and ensure all documentation is up to date
- Monitor outstanding actions, including renewals and client communications
- Identify cross selling opportunities and generate referrals

The Candidate:
- Experience in a commercial insurance role (account handling or account executive level)
- Strong understanding of commercial insurance products and client needs
- Confident communicator with strong relationship-building skills
- Commercially minded with the ability to identify and secure new business
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Comfortable managing multiple clients and priorities
- Good IT skills and experience using insurance systems
- Knowledge of FCA regulations and compliance requirements
Compliance & Professional standards:
- Ensure all work is carried out in line with FCA regulations and company procedures
- Maintain accurate and compliant client records at all times
- Handle client queries and complaints in a professional and timely manner
- Keep up to date with regulatory requirements and industry standards
- Contribute to a culture of professionalism, integrity and customer focus
The Package:
- Salary of £30,000 – £35,000 per annum
