We are seeking a passionate and experienced Poultry Farm Manager to oversee an organic free-range egg farm. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in poultry management, with a focus on organic farming practices and a dedication to animal welfare.
The Job:
- Manage day-to-day operations of the organic free-range egg farm, including overseeing the care and feeding of the hens.
- Ensure compliance with organic certification standards and regulations.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize egg production while maintaining high standards of animal welfare.
- Monitor and maintain the health of the flock, including disease prevention and treatment as necessary.
- Manage inventory and supplies, including feed, bedding, and equipment.
- Supervise farm staff, providing training and guidance as needed.
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors as necessary.
- Maintain accurate records and reports related to farm operations.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in poultry management, preferably in an organic or free-range farming environment.
- Strong understanding of organic farming principles and certification requirements.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of animal health and welfare best practices.
- Experience with farm equipment and machinery.
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.
