Regenerative Agriculture
Regenerative Agriculture/Soils Specialist – UK - £45,000 basic + Benefits
The Job:
Help shape the future of sustainable farming. An independent, mission-driven organisation is seeking a dedicated Regenerative Agriculture/Soils Specialist to carry out in-depth, on-site assessments of farms and agricultural operations. This is a key role supporting the implementation and verification of regenerative agriculture practices — helping farmers transition to more environmentally responsible systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Field Assessments
- Conduct farm visits to evaluate compliance with regenerative agriculture standards
- Collect soil, water and plant samples for laboratory testing
- Observe and document practices such as crop rotation, soil management and biodiversity enhancement
Verification & Reporting
- Cross check farm provided information via observation, interviews, and sample analysis
- Produce detailed reports outlining compliance and recommendations for improvement
- Collaborate with a certification team to finalise verification outcomes and provide clear, constructive feedback.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Communicate effectively with farmers, agronomists, and stakeholders about verification procedures and best practices
- Offer support and guidance on the implementation of regenerative systems
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with evolving agricultural methods
Data Management
- Maintain organised and secure records of fieldwork and findings
- Use digital tools for data collection, analysis, and reporting
- Uphold the confidentiality and integrity of all data
The Candidate:
- Degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Environmental Science, or a related discipline
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in agricultural fieldwork, ideally within sustainability or regenerative frameworks
- Strong understanding of regenerative agriculture concepts and standards
- Excellent observational, analytical, and reporting skills
- Willingness to travel extensively throughout the UK and Ireland, with some international travel as needed
- Comfortable using tools such as Google Workspace and mapping software; quick to learn new technologies
- Physically able to carry equipment and samples (up to 25kg)
