Job description

Shift Engineer
Are you ready to take your maintenance skills to the next level? We're seeking a talented individual to join the mill engineering team at a feed mill in Derbyshire!
🔧 The Job:
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure smooth maintenance operations at the feed mill.
  • Develop and implement a robust maintenance plan to minimize production downtime.
  • Support production teams with our Preventive Maintenance (PPM) system.
  • Respond promptly to breakdowns to minimize downtime and meet production demands.
  • Keep track of maintenance status and engineering performance, reporting regularly.
  • Prioritize and complete engineering requests efficiently.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and insurance requirements for pressure systems and lifting equipment.
  • Assist in purchasing and stock control within budget targets.
  • Help obtain quotations for plant improvements and capital plans.
  • Maintain their permit-to-work system and uphold health and safety standards.
  • Keep the engineering workshop and stores in top condition, following their clean-as-you-go policy.
  • Monitor and mitigate any environmental impact within your area of responsibility.
🛠️ The Candidate:
  • Electrical qualification to 17th edition.
  • Experience with PLCs and inverters.
  • Proficiency in maintaining PPM systems.
  • Mechanical experience.
  • Familiarity with high-speed production facilities.
  • IOSH qualification (Desirable).
 
The Package:
  • Salary £45,000
  • Above statutory holiday entitlement
  • Four on four off shift pattern
