We are looking for a dedicated professional to take on the dual role of Transport Manager and Lorry Driver. This role involves managing the daily operations of our transport department while also performing lorry driving duties. The ideal candidate will be highly organised, have excellent driving skills, and be able to manage a team effectively.

We are looking for a dedicated professional to take on the dual role of Transport Manager and Lorry Driver. This role involves managing the daily operations of our transport department while also performing lorry driving duties. The ideal candidate will be highly organised, have excellent driving skills, and be able to manage a team effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement efficient transportation strategies, coordinate schedules, and ensure compliance with policies, safety regulations, and transportation laws
- Manage driver training, handle staff issues, maintain vehicle records, and improve customer service and safety culture
- Build and maintain customer relationships, source new business opportunities, and create haulage quotations
- Plan efficient driver schedules and routes, ensure vehicle maintenance, and accurately complete transportation records and administration tasks
- Operate company lorries to transport goods safely, following routes and schedules for timely deliveries.
- Load and unload cargo, perform vehicle inspections, and adhere to traffic laws and safety regulations
The Candidate:
- HGV Licence required
- CPC Transport Manager qualification (preferred)
- Experience in transport planning
- Valid commercial driver's license with a clean driving record
- Telehandler/Forklift certification
- Physical stamina and ability to lift/move heavy objects
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
The package:
