Broiler Farm Manager
Broiler Farm Manager - Essex - £38,000 + 4 bedroom house included
The Job:
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Broiler Farm Manager to take full responsibility for a modern poultry unit managing approximately 230,000 birds.
This is a hands on role requiring strong organisational skills and a proactive approach to maintaining high standards of bird welfare, biosecurity and production performance. The successful candidate will oversee all daily farm operations, ensuring efficiency, compliance and optimal flock performance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing day to day operations of a large scale broiler farm
- Overseeing flock management including feeding, watering, ventilation and environmental controls
- Monitoring bird health and liaising with vets and technical teams when required
- Ensuring strict biosecurity and hygiene standards are maintained
- Keeping accurate production, mortality and medication records
- Coordinating catching, thinning and depopulation processes
- Maintaining farm buildings, equipment and infrastructure
- Supervising and supporting staff or contractors on site
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and company standards
- Driving continuous improvement in performance, efficiency and welfare

The Candidate:
- Previous experience in poultry, livestock, or agricultural operations
- Strong practical and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and sense of responsibility
- Ability to manage a large-scale operation independently
- Good organisational and record-keeping skills
- Full UK driving licence
- NVQ Level 3 in Poultry Production (or equivalent)
- Experience managing broiler operations
- Knowledge of environmental control systems and farm technology

- Salary of £38,000 DOE
