Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing our fleet of vehicles and drivers, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and company requirements, and fostering a culture of safety and excellence.

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to lead our Transport Department as a Driver and Fleet Manager. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing our fleet of vehicles and drivers, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and company requirements, and fostering a culture of safety and excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Effectively manage the fleet of vehicles and drivers, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory and company requirements.
- Foster collaboration within the operations teams to ensure operational effectiveness.
- Develop and maintain a safety-first culture, championing best practices.
- Implement, manage, and audit an effective transport management system.
- Collaborate with wider departments to ensure compliance and operational effectiveness.
- Develop and manage the ongoing performance of direct reports.
- Ensure efficient daily, weekly, and monthly driver and vehicle resource planning.
- Resolve day-to-day issues and unplanned downtime, ensuring effective communication.
- Keep up to date with relevant legal, regulatory, and customer requirements.
The Candidate:
- Good knowledge of transport hours and regulations.
- Transport Manager CPC qualification (National or International).
- Understanding of transport industry compliance, including Operator Licence requirements.
- Experience coaching, leading, and building high-performing teams.
- Proficiency in using ERP systems, advanced MS Office skills, and vehicle tracking software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Prioritization experience with Key Performance Indicators (KPI).
- Ability to develop and lead implementation of new policies and procedures.
- Class 1 LGV licence.
