Laying Farm Manager
Laying Farm Manager – Breeder Farm – Poultry – North UK + Excellent Package
The Role:
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Laying Farm Manager to take full operational responsibility for a breeder laying site within a well established poultry operation. This role offers the chance to lead a dedicated team while ensuring the highest standards of bird welfare, production efficiency and staff development.
The site is home to approximately 42,000 pullets plus males and requires a manager with a strong understanding of breeder operations, welfare standards and people management to maintain and improve overall flock performance.
Key responsibilities:
- Overall responsibility for the management of a breeder laying site, ensuring optimal flock health, welfare and egg production
- Managing a flock of around 42,000 pullets plus males, ensuring eggs are produced to required standards and specifications
- Adhering to company stock management programmes and biosecurity protocols
- Leading, managing, and developing all farm staff, contractors and service providers
- Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and communicating ideas to field management
- Managing commercial aspects including labour planning, working to budgets and achieving production targets
- Ensuring 24/7 emergency cover is in place via alarm call support
The Candidate:
- Proven experience in poultry farming, ideally within breeder or layer operations
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Passionate about bird welfare with a proactive, hands on approach
- Commercially aware with the ability to meet operational and financial targets
- Flexible and committed, with a willingness to work as required by the needs of the site
Working Hours:
48 hours per week – any 5 or 6 days from 7, depending on operational requirements.
