Skilled Operator – Cereals - Ipswich, Suffolk - £30,000 

The Job:
A progressive arable farming business is seeking a Skilled Operator to support cereal production across a well-managed operation near Ipswich.
This is a hands-on role focused on all aspects of the arable cycle, from cultivation through to harvest. You will play a key part in maintaining high standards of crop production while operating modern machinery and supporting efficient day-to-day farm operations.

Key Responsibilities:
- Operate tractors and machinery for cultivation, drilling, spraying and harvesting
- Carry out day-to-day tasks across cereal crops including wheat and barley
- Assist with fertiliser and crop protection applications
- Maintain machinery, including basic servicing and repairs
- Support harvest operations, including extended hours during peak periods
- Ensure compliance with health & safety and environmental standards
- Work both independently and as part of a small team

The Candidate:
- Proven experience in arable farming, ideally within cereal production
- Competent operating modern agricultural machinery
- Strong work ethic with a reliable and flexible approach
- Basic mechanical knowledge for maintenance and repairs
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
- PA1/PA2 spraying certificates (desirable)
- Experience with GPS and precision farming technology (desirable)
- Telehandler or forklift certification (desirable)
- Experience within larger-scale arable operations (desirable)

- Salary circa £30,000 DOE
- Permanent, full-time position
