The Job:
Working for a major agrochemical manufacturer, we have been retained exclusively to recruit for an Agronomy Research Assistant based in Shropshire. The job is very practical work, but will have some lab work in it too. Your job role will involve executing research & development activities on a range of agricultural crops in support to Research Agronomists and the UK Agricultural Research & Development Station Manager. You will conduct research & development activities, to include but not limited to application, planting, sampling, assessment, recording, analysing, harvesting of crop commodities. You will be supporting agronomists by working on field and glasshouse studies on range of crops including Cereals, Potatoes, Oilseed Rape and Vegetables. This is a greatly varied role, working for a market leader that can offer excellent career development opportunities for the future.
The Candidate:
· At least 2 years’ experience in identical or comparable role
· Field trials experience would be ideal.
· Agriculture, Agronomy, Life science or similar (BSc, equivalent or higher)
· PA1 - NPTC Certificate
· PA6 - NPTC Certificate
· Computer literate, particularly outlook, Excel, Word
· Effective communicator
· Self-motivated
The Package:
Dependent upon the level of experience – Salary £26,000-£36,000 (dependent upon experience) + benefits package and great opportunities to progress!
