Hydrogeologist
Hydrogeologist - £60,000 - Carlow Office (South Ireland) / Newry, if UK-based
The Job:
We are currently seeking an experienced Hydrogeologist to strengthen the client’s groundwater team. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical ability, excellent interpersonal skills and the capacity to independently manage multiple projects while overseeing the work of junior team members.

The Candidate:
- Chartered with Geol Soc, CIWEM, or equivalent
- 5–10 years’ experience in groundwater projects, including:
- Establishment and management of water and monitoring well drilling contracts
- Design and analysis of well tests
- Water quality sampling and interpretation of results
- Use of simple groundwater models, including assimilative capacity assessments for discharges to groundwater
- Desirable (but not essential): experience with fractured/karst aquifer systems, dewatering design, bog/wetland hydrology, SuDS, wastewater discharge
- Experience in managing and mentoring junior staff
- Desire to progress to a senior role in a small, specialist company (~20 people)
- Legal entitlement to work in the UK, Ireland, or EU without requiring sponsorship
- Degree in a relevant subject (MSc in Hydrogeology preferred, ideally from Birmingham, Newcastle, or a recognised institution in the Netherlands)

All applicants must hold a minimum of an NVQ Level 2, Scottish NVQ Level 2, or an equivalent qualification relevant to the role applied for. Candidates must also have the legal right to work in the UK or hold a valid visa permitting employment.
